The Postgraduate Studies Program (PSP) in Analysis and Quality Control of Food Products is co-organized by the Western Macedonia University of Applied Sciences (TEI-WM) -Department of Agricultural Technology in Florina, and the University of Food Technologies, Plovdiv, Bulgaria (UFT-Plovdiv), in accordance with the Law 3685 / 2008 (A'148) as amended and in force.
The PSP is self-financed and it will start operating in the academic year 2015-2016.
The Master of Sciences (MSc) is intended to provide postgraduate education to Geotechnical and other Applied Sciences graduates in the broader field of Analysis and Quality Control of Food (with an emphasis on quality control principles and security of the food products that reach the consumer’s plate).
The objectives of the program are:
· Provide graduates (especially Geotechnical, Biological Sciences and Food Technology ones) with the necessary knowledge on modern developments in the field of safety and quality control of food.
· Understanding of the basic principles of food safety and quality management.
· Understanding of the broader philosophy of the modern consumer needs for consumption of certified and safe food products.
· Understanding of the principles and rules of implementation of quality control of agricultural and food products.
· Understanding of the methods of safe production, processing, maintenance and food standardization (from production to consumption).
· Understanding of management systems and quality assurance of agricultural products and foodstuffs.
· Preparation for postgraduate studies.
